Immobilizing the lower legs in transit is important. It prevents further injury due to legs slipping off the spineboard, stopping the rocking motion that will create more soft tissue and bone damage after injury and increases blood flow loss due to improperly securing the lower extremities. This immobilizer was designed to provide firm steady support without compromising patient comfort to the lower extremities while being transported on a spine board. Often the frustrated rescuer may over tighten board straps to keep the legs from slipping, inadvertently causing more damage. The ease of use will make this a must have for all EMS professionals. The Velcro straps can permanently secure the Leg immobilizer to your spine boards or can be quickly deployed on scene. The Velcro straps then secure the lower portion of the patients legs to the comfortable immobilizer for transport.
